I had the absolute joy of sitting down with one of my favorite humans, the incomparable actor Max Martini! My first encounter with Max wasn’t in real life but on screen—through his unforgettable role as Mac in The Unit, one of my all-time favorite characters. Years later, life tossed in a twist: I moved to NYC, started dating someone, and—surprise—it turned out he was a close friend of Max’s. We crossed paths briefly, and then nearly fifteen years went by before I bumped into him again… at, of all places, The Mecca. This time I was sober, and when I went up to say hello, Max greeted me with the kind of warm, genuine smile that makes you feel like you’ve known him forever. From that moment, a real friendship was born.In our conversation, we dive into everything from addiction and its grip on society, to road rage (yes, really), to the talks he has with his kids about navigating a world that glamorizes alcohol and drugs. He shares how he brought one of my favorite characters to life, and—most importantly when he’s finally taking me out for pancakes and shooting practice.Max is not just a remarkable actor. he’s one of the kindest, most grounded people I’ve ever met. I can’t wait for you to hear this one. enjoy!

Sebastian Siegel is back on the pod! His first appearance stirred the pot, so of course, I had to invite him again. Yet again, we dive into the messy, magical art of finding your way back from self-abandonment . Sebastian unpacks his TED Talk “The Invisible Force Driving Our Lives & 5 Stages of Love” while I toss in questions inspired by my book A Cunt’s Guide to Peace. Buckle up-it’s equal parts wild, raw, and heart-opening.
Listen in. Laugh. Cringe. Heal. Repeat.

What an episode!
You may know Tommy Vext as the powerhouse lead singer of Bad Wolves, the band that rose to global fame with their unforgettable cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” Over the course of his career, he’s achieved Diamond, Gold, and Platinum status multiple times, and has also fronted bands including Divine Heresy, Snot, and Westfield Massacre.
I, however, first came across Tommy in a different light-through his moving cover of Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games,” a song I often painted to. It never crossed my mind that the person I frequently spotted at the gym was the very voice behind the soundtrack to my creative sessions. When I finally put two and two together, I reached out and invited him to join the podcast-especially after learning that he has been living in sobriety for over 16 years.
Tommy shares candidly about his journey: working as a sober coach, mentoring others, and even offering to connect me with sober friends in London when he heard I was traveling there. In our conversation, he opens up about his upbringing, the many challenges he’s faced in his career, and deeply personal experiences-from surviving a near-death moment and time spent in witness protection, to navigating the difficulties of being a “dry drunk” during the turbulent breakup with Bad Wolves.
This is an honest, gripping, and inspiring interview that offers a rare glimpse into the resilience and transformation behind the music.I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Rashaad has always been something of an intriguing figure in my life. As he shares in our interview, I first noticed him years ago at the gym-back when I was still drinking heavily and carrying extra weight. We’d occasionally cross paths at Ralph’s too; his cart neatly stacked with nourishing food to fuel his training, mine filled with wine and whatever indulgence I craved to soothe the aftermath of a hangover.
For years, that was the extent of our acquaintance. Then came the heartbreaking loss of Doug Fruchey-an extraordinary presence at Gold’s Gym and a dear friend of Rashaad’s. At his memorial, our paths intertwined more deeply. In a way, the Gold’s Gym community bonded through that grief, a silent vow forming among us to look after one another with greater care.
During my “happy hour years,” I often found myself wondering how Rashaad could possibly maintain the discipline to rise before dawn and train daily. Some mornings, his Instagram stories were the only thing that pushed me out of bed and into the gym rather than surrendering to the inertia of self-pity.
I would arrive to find him already there, alongside Doug, Mike, and a handful of other OGs, and I felt painfully out of place-hungover, bloated, self-conscious. Yet there was an irresistible pull to keep showing up. Something told me that if I could push through the discomfort, perhaps I could inch closer to becoming someone stronger, healthier, better. Doug’s death shook me profoundly, reopening the wound of losing my own best friend in a similar way. It was a stark reminder: I had to change. With the help of the Gold’s Gym family, I did.
Friendships like these are woven throughout that gym-a quiet, daily exchange of encouragement, accountability, and loyalty. In our conversation, Rashaad and I talk about this community, how it has shaped our mental health, and how discipline and mindful living are often unfairly branded, while overindulgence is normalized. He also shares his own journey into bodybuilding, with all the challenges and triumphs along the way.
Rashaad is one of my “gym besties.” We hardly ever speak outside those walls, yet I know he’s invested in my growth just as I am in his. And on the days I falter, I know I could call him-and more likely than not, he’d make time to join me for a much-needed cheat meal.
I hope you enjoy an insight to a very important chapter of my recovery ,

The fascinating thing about having friends like Firefly is that they’re a bit like the sun. It rises and sets every single day, and because it’s always there, we forget the sheer magic of it.That’s how I (and I suspect many others) perceive Firefly. On one hand, she’s the friend I’ll have wonderfully long, meandering chats with whenever our schedules align. On the other, she’s this radiant force of nature effortlessly brightening every space she enters, brimming with creativity in a way so constant that, much like with the sun, I sometimes forget to pause and marvel at it.Then she’ll drop a new song she’s poured her heart into, or land an impossible trick on her skateboard, and suddenly you remember: oh right, she’s a total powerhouse. Her latest single, Weekends (which I am absolutely obsessed with), just came out and for the first time since we met, I got to sit her down and dig into her world. We talked about everything: her creative process, whether she’s secretly a trust fund baby, the strange backlash she gets online when she posts about her wins in music or skating, why she wants her romantic partner to be a fellow skater, and the tangled threads of racism, misogyny, and addiction in those spaces. Also why IS her favorite color is orange?  :)

the artist episode,how deliciously overdue.
As some of you know, I’m an abstract surrealist painter, and in sobriety, I’ve found my way back to the studio with a clarity and reverence I hadn’t known before. Art has always been my portal, but sobriety gifted me the stillness to step through it properly. It’s one of those strange and sacred gifts of a clear mind like suddenly being fluent in your own soul again.
Joining me today is the brilliant Jason Mason, a fellow artist I serendipitously met at my friend Oliver Clegg’s exhibition at The Journal Gallery in Los Angeles. (Oliver, if you don’t know him, is a wildly talented British artist and all-around excellent human.)
Now, I’ve often suspected people tune out the moment I start waxing poetic about pigments and palettes especially those who don’t speak the sacred, slightly mad dialect of artists. I get it. Debating the emotional undertones of a mauve shadow for twenty minutes isn’t everyone’s idea of riveting. But for those of us who feel in color and think in texture, it’s church.
That’s how Jason and I bonded, actually over a hue. My dress, to be exact. We spiraled into a color-fueled art vortex, the kind of conversation where time folds in on itself and suddenly you’re surrounded by others who get it. Before we knew it, we were in a full-blown salon showing each other our work, dissecting brushstrokes, laughing, philosophizing. Heaven.
In this episode, we talk about the quiet joys and private wars of the creative process, the strange melancholy of finishing a piece, and the sweet vulnerability of finally sharing it. We also touch on the gallery scene, and how it might evolve to be a bit more accommodating to those of us who no longer self-medicate with champagne flutes.
It’s an easy, meandering, soul-nourishing conversation between artists. And whether or not you consider yourself one, I hope you’ll find something in it that resonates.
Enjoy.

Oh, don’t mind us,just two women fan-girling over each other in broad daylight! Marissa is one of those skaters I quietly admired from a distance at the park, unsure exactly what drew me in beyond her obvious talent on wheels. Maybe it was the way the whole space seemed to light up when she was around-the sincerity in her hugs, that radiant smile that made everyone feel seen.We only just properly connected, and I honestly don’t know why it took this long. Maybe it’s because she usually rolled through during peak chaos hours at Venice, and I was more of a quiet-morning snake-run girl myself.
In this episode, Marissa opens up with beautiful honesty about her tough childhood, stepping up to become her sister’s guardian while navigating the heartbreak of a father battling (and finally overcoming) alcoholism shortly before his passing.
She also shares the behind-the-scenes journey of building Mamaskate, her skatewear brand for women, her brief time on OnlyFans and how she feels about it now, and her three-year relationship with the incredibly talented skater Leandre “Skategoat” Sanders-the love, the breakup, and the lessons in between and how it was going from a skater couple to navigating the same areas now as individuals no longer in a union.
Marissa is an open book and truly one of the kindest souls I’ve met.hope you enjoy this episode

This was such a beautiful, heart-filled interview! I always try to bring you guests I think will leave you inspired and with hope.
Meet my guest, the lovely Sammy Myer,  the founder of papasweater  shares how her love for design first blossomed through wardrobe styling until people around her started pointing out what was clear all along: she was thinking, moving, and creating like a true designer.
She opens up about the profound loss of her beloved father to addiction at just 14 years old, and the waves of disassociation and escapism that followed as she tried to keep her dream alive with a quiet hole in her heart.“I remember Lindsay Lohan called Lifetime and got me hired as a stylist!” she says with a laugh. From dressing icons like Alicia Keys, Lindsay Lohan, and Swizz Beatz to moving through the glittering circles of Kanye West and Jay-Z, Sammy takes us behind the scenes of the fast-paced, high-stakes world of celebrity styling. She talks about the friendships forged in the fire, the personal challenges she had to navigate, and the tender power of being seen and supported by people who truly believe in you.
Tap in for her story, her spirit, and a reminder that dreams don’t just survive, they transform us.

Raise your hand if you happened to be at the center of one of the largest federal drug smuggling cases in modern history, outmaneuvered the notorious prisoner’s dilemma, represented yourself in court, and managed to have a 30-year sentence reduced to 17—ultimately walking free after just 12 years served. Then, against all odds, you not only rebuilt your life but soared to the top, earning a coveted spot on the Forbes list within five years of release.
Can’t quite relate? Allow me to introduce you to Louis ziskin. His extraordinary story is as audacious as it is inspiring.

This was such a special interview—one I genuinely cherished. I was deeply moved by Dakota Dean’s courage, honesty, and willingness to speak so openly about the darker chapters of her life, and the raw, often gut-wrenching reality of her sobriety journey. Dakota is a remarkable woman who has navigated and transcended many versions of herself—from the world of OnlyFans and Instagram influencer world to the grounded, intentional life she leads now. She shares her experience with Cali-sobriety, reflecting on how alcohol once had a devastating grip on her and the ones she loved as a result, while cannabis remains something she has cultivated a mindful, healthy relationship with. She offers profound insight into what life looks like on the other side of alcoholism, all while balancing a demanding schedule as a successful DJ and occasional bartender. I hope you enjoy this powerful conversation and the story of a woman who continues to evolve with strength, grace, and depth.
